Why was Ted K right?

By far, with only rare exceptions, most of Ted’s predictions in his 1995 essay “Industrial Society and Its Future” have been shown as prescient (if only logical), and revealed as true with time: human mental and physical health, human freedom, and wild Nature have all suffered tremendously due to (not merely coincidentally to) the advances of Technology - against Nature and human interests.

A clear and honest assessment of our likely future does not present anything better than Ted’s dismal expected results of allowing Technology to continue restricting human freedom and destroying Nature.

What can we do?

We must kill Technology. Kaczynski’s treatise Anti-Tech Revolution: Why and How delivers an understanding of the essential components for successful revolutionary movements. Our task now is to raise the profile of our ideology, to heighten social tensions between the elites benefitting most from serving Technology, and to focus effort on lynchpins within the technological system and inflexible points where it will not compromise. We cannot spend time/energy/money misfocused on peripheral effects of Technology’s ascendance.

We must point popular resentments and discontent at the true face of their causation: Technology. We shall develop the fertile soil from which insurrectionists will one day sprout, to strike when the system is in severe crisis and the future turns to either a path where humanity is free from Technology and living well in the world we have been born adapted for, or directly enslaved in service to Tech, if we are even allowed to exist at all (an implausible scenario).

What is “technology”?

If you are asking this question, then you are likely not one of us. (Or maybe you are a clanker-fetishist traitor to humanity.) We hope you find answers and can contribute usefully to the salvation of Nature from Tech.

Why do you use tech if you are Anti-Tech?

We found that our low-tech smoke signals simply were not being read! The reason people use technologies is to increase their power; our enemies serving Technology amplify their power, and we Tech-hating defenders of Nature also need to amplify our power. The weapons of the master can be used against him by the slaves.

Firefighters actually do “fight fire with fire;” guerrilla insurgents use the weapons of their foes; socialists generate profits and welcome wealthy benefactors to contribute and fund their goal of toppling capitalism; hackers use computers to disable computers; judo is all about converting an opponent’s force against him. Anti-Tech Action will follow similar strategy, turning the enemy’s strengths into weaknesses and exploiting what we can. If you cannot accept such “hypocrisy,” you can go live in the woods (while it remains anywhere); maybe you’ll hate Tech when it comes to eradicate that place.

And again: asking this question means you are most likely unfit to join us. We won’t benefit from people asking these juvenile questions.
